Chapter 1

This chapter is talking on the beginning of human beings and how we developed agriculture over time. The major break throughs on how to manage and accumulate different plants and animals amazes me! For instance the ancient mayan civilization with maize or corn how they started from being only two to three inches long to being almost a foot. This was one of the first genetic engineering to plant ever done before and it happened about 4000 b.c. Also I did not know how the Sahara dessert was fertile land thousands of years ago and was rich in soil and food for many tribes of people. The whole middle east was planished with livestock and a plethora of different plant and wild game for the many peoples choosing. Another major thing that got me the plants have rested by mostly females took up seventy percent of many tribes diets. Meaning that mens hunting only had thirty percent and really depended on women for the survival of their families.
